Most Popular Countertops in Hollywood, SC
Choosing the best countertops for your kitchen is an important decision, but it doesn't have to be a hard one. One of the best ways to narrow down your search is to find out what kind of countertop material you'd like to use. While it's true that material and style trends change over time, there are several counters that have always been top sellers.
Some of the most popular countertops we sell include:
Marble Countertops in Hollywood, SC

There's no way around it - marble adds jaw-dropping beauty to just about any room and is known for its good looks. It is a dense stone that comes in many different hues like greens, browns, pinks, greys, whites, and more. While marble countertops often have otherworldly beauty, they can be susceptible to stains and cracks. Marble is also considered one of the most expensive counters to choose from, though the truth is marble comes in a wide range of qualities and prices.
- Pros: Stunning beauty, plenty of beautiful choices.
- Cons: Not always used in kitchens due to chance of staining.
- Popular Colors: Portinari, Shadow Storm, Super White, Lumen, Calacatta Linconni, Nobulato Honned, Shadow, Grey Imperiale Honed.

Granite Countertops in Hollywood, SC

When it comes to popularity, granite countertops take the cake. Granite countertops usually contain a blend of quartz, feldspar, mica, and other minerals. Granite can add an edge of elegance and even a country-chic feel to your kitchen, making it a well-rounded stone. Granite is durable and scratch-resistant, though it can require sealing and DIY chip repair.
- Pros: Luxurious, rich look featuring natural stone that is durable, heat resistant, and scratch-resistant.
- Cons: Hard material that may require DIY chip repair and sealing.
- Popular Colors: Blue Jeans, Creama Pearl, Alure, Galaxy White, Luna Pear, Steel Grey, Ubatuba, Oro Brazil.
Quartz Countertops in Hollywood, SC

Quartz is a manufactured material that represents one of our favorite four-letter words: easy! If you're looking to add a high-end feel to your kitchen or bathroom, quartz is an excellent material to consider. Like granite, quartz countertops can add a decadent vibe to any room. Unlike granite, you may not have to seal quartz quite as often (if ever).
- Pros: Quartz countertops come in plenty of colors to choose from and are easy to clean. They are also strong, scratch-resistant, and don't require sealing.
- Cons: Quartz is not as heat resistant as other materials like granite counters. Sharp corners tend to crack, but that can be remedied with rounded corners.
- Popular Colors: Noble Grey, Raw Concrete, Frosty Carrina, Shitake, Pebble, Pietra Grey, Sierra Madre, Arctic.

Silestone Countertops in Hollywood, SC

A manufactured material made from quartz crystals, Silestone countertops are equal parts gorgeous and practical. Known for being a durable, non-porous choice, Silestone is resistant to stains, scratches, and even some forms of bacteria. Homeowners who choose Silestone do so because they can get a high-end look without having to worry too much about maintenance. Silestone counters look great in many different homes, from contemporary abodes with modern accents to vintage-looking kitchens.
- Pros: Silestone countertops are non-porous, meaning germs and bacteria can't lodge themselves inside this material. This makes Silestone counters great for kitchens and bathrooms alike. This material also comes in a wide variety of colors and resists scratches and chips. Overall, Silestone is an excellent choice if you want to make a solid long-term investment without much upkeep.
- Cons: While Silestone is great if you're looking for a low-maintenance counter option, it can be sensitive to harsh chemicals like bleach and ammonia. Silestone is also not recommended for outdoor use since the resins used to make the material do not do well with UV light.
- Popular Colors: Daria, Gray Expo, Lagoon, Calacatta Gold, Arctic, Blanco City, Gris Expo, Desert Silver
Quartzite Countertops in Hollywood, SC

Not to be confused with quartz countertops, which are manmade, quartzite is a naturally occurring stone that is quarried much in the same way that granite is. If you're a fan of marble counters, quartzite mimics its looks without as much upkeep. Like granite, it is a very durable choice and adds an upscale feeling to almost any room you choose.
- Pros: Since it doesn't require any special cleaners, quartzite looks great without much maintenance. When it gets dirty, soap and water should be all you need to clean. Quartzite is also a great long-term option since it doesn't wear down quickly at all.
- Cons: Heat is required to form quartzite. However, you should avoid putting hot pots and pans on your quartzite countertops. Because quartzite comes in many different varieties, some forms of quartzite need to be sealed more often than others.
- Popular Colors: Maya, Fusion, Locomotion, Callacata, Airy Concrete, Cocada White

Which Countertop is Right for You?
If you're just beginning your search for new countertops, it can be a little overwhelming trying to whittle down your options. We've got good news - with over 19 years in the industry, our team of experts has learned a thing or two about countertops. When you come to the Real Deal Countertops showroom, one of our goals is to educate you about our products and your countertop options, so you can make an educated purchasing decision.

How Will You Use Your Countertops in Hollywood?

The first and perhaps most crucial part of your countertop choice should stem from how you and your family use your countertops. For example, if you have kids, your counters will probably see a lot of activity. Between standard eating times and "in-between" meals that teens are known for, your counters might double as food prep stations. As such, you might need a countertop material that is resistant to most food and beverage stains. If you own a rental property that sees a lot of foot traffic from strangers, you might want to consider an economical material that is also durable.
- Do you cook a lot?
- Do you host a lot of parties?
- How long will you be living in your home?
- How long will you be living in your home?
Once you figure out exactly how you'll be using your countertops, you can begin to narrow down your choices.

How Much Upkeep Is Too Much?
Be realistic and honest with yourself about this question. Before you fall in love with how a countertop material looks, be sure you understand how much upkeep is needed. Some materials require more care, while others don't need much at all.
Keep these points in mind:
- Materials like quartz only need to be wiped down occasionally.
- Materials like granite, marble, and limestone will need to be sealed at least once a year.
- Some materials may be durable but aren't stain resistant.
The bottom line is this: Assess the maintenance demands that come along with the materials you're looking at. Marble countertops in Hollywood, SC are elegant, but if you'e unwilling to keep them looking their best, why bother buying the material?
You should be aware that most countertop materials will require some form of upkeep, even if it' minimal. To help keep your counters in pristine condition, consider these care and precaution tips:
- Many common foods contain acids that will dull or even damage the surface of stone countertops.Use coasters to protect your counters, especially if you'e drinking something with citrus juices or alcohol.
- Do not place scalding hot pots or pans directly on your countertops.
- Use mats or trivets to place under hot dishes.
- If you spill liquid on your countertops, blot the spill with a paper towel ASAP. Wiping the spill will cause it to spread.
- Use mild soap and plain water to clean up stains.
Which Colors and Materials Match Your Home's Aesthetics?
For many homeowners, this question is almost always top-of-mind. After all, you want to choose colors and materials that fit well with other features in your home. When selecting your countertop materials, try to choose a tone that contrasts with your other amenities, like your cabinets. Don't go for a perfect match. As an example, black granite is a beautiful contrast to white cabinets.
Consider these questions when choosing your countertop materials:
- Are there one or two colors that you love more than others?
- Does your choice go well with the color of your kitchen's walls?
- Do you want to switch up your kitchen's style or keep it the same?
- Will you be painting your kitchen a different color in the future?
- Will you be replacing your appliances soon?

Real Deal Countertops Pro Tip:
Because your home's accessories and paint job may change with time, your countertops should have a versatile color. That way, you won't have problems matching them with new paint colors or appliances.

LORIS, S.C. (WMBF) - You can start calling Loris the Hollywood of the Grand Strand because a film company is building a movie studio in the heart of the city.
The company, Dalton Pictures, is currently building 20,000 sq. ft. of studio sound stages right in downtown Loris.
Four different stages will transform into any filmmaker’s playground turning them into different movie sets like a restaurant, bank, or clothing store.
The city hopes both locals and tourists will get in on the action through behind-the-scenes tours or even starring as an extra.
The project is expected to bring dozens of jobs and will offer internships for those interested in the film business.
Jerry Dalton, the owner of Dalton Pictures, said Loris is a great place to get the cameras rolling.
“It’s the perfect fit. They want economic development here. They want new things here. They want it to happen, and the infrastructure is here. The city’s willing to work with us. We’re working with the city. And the back lot. We’ve got a beach 25 miles away. We’ve got mountains three hours away, so it’s a perfect shooting place,” said Dalton.
Loris already got a taste of fame when it was featured in the movie ‘A Carolina Christmas’ in 2020.
Dalton said he’s excited to shoot movies on the new stages and see other filmmakers come to Loris and bring their creations to life.
Dalton is also the creator of the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival and says it’s a great way to get into the movie business and make connections.
Mayor Todd Harrelson said he’s excited about the project and many other businesses making their way to Loris too.
“We got a Wing Zone coming in. We just got an urgent care. We just got a tractor supply store. A new bakery, and then boom, here we go on this project. It’s really got people excited around here,” said Harrelson.
The film studio in downtown Loris has been in the works for more than two years and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

Already walloped by an unusually snowy storm last week, California is now facing even more wintry precipitation.
Several feet of snow fell in parts of Southern California starting Thursday and continued through the weekend, particularly in more mountainous regions.
The Mountain High Ski Resort, located in the San Gabriel mountains about an 80-mile drive northeast of Los Angeles, recorded 93 inches of snow. Other high-elevation areas saw more than 5 feet of heavy snow and are still digging out.
Satellite images from NASA's Earth Observatory showed the vast blankets of snow that fell in parts of Southern California, LAist reported.
But the atypical snowfall isn't over yet.
Another storm that began on Monday was predicted to drop even more snow on California, the worst of it coming Tuesday night into Wednesday. But it wasn't expected to be as strong as the weekend's weather, the National Weather Service in San Diego said.
Snowfall and strong winds were forecast for San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego counties. The NWS San Diego office even predicted a brief atmospheric river with heavy precipitation.
Though such storms can help ease California's drought, that doesn't mean the drought is over.
Jeanine Jones, the interstate resources manager at California's Department of Water Resources, said in a statement to NPR that although the department typically waits until later in the season to assess the water supply, the recent weather appears to have been beneficial.
"The precipitation California has received in recent days combined with the nine atmospheric rivers in early January has helped ease drought impacts in parts of California," she said.
But Jones added that depleted groundwater resources are slower to recover, and rural areas that rely on groundwater are still struggling.
"It will take more than a single wet year for groundwater levels to substantially improve at a statewide scale."
According to the website PowerOutage.us, more than 69,000 electricity customers in California had no power as of late Tuesday morning PT.
Meanwhile, a widespread snowstorm arrived in the Northeast. Winter weather alerts were in effect in at least seven states along the East Coast, from Maine to New Jersey.
The NWS office in Gray, Maine, was predicting as much as a foot of snow in parts of New Hampshire and as much as 8 inches in parts of Maine.
By Tuesday morning, parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island had already seen more than six inches of snow, while the Boston area received roughly a third of that or less.
The New York City metro area also fell in the storm's path but saw lower snowfall totals. Central Park got 1.8 inches of snow. Meteorologists said late Tuesday morning that precipitation in the metro area was starting to transition from frozen to liquid.

HOLLYWOOD, S.C. (WCBD) – A couple from Hollywood, South Carolina will celebrate 75 years of marriage this year. The special couple, both aged 96, still love, laugh, and sing their way through a lifelong marriage.
The price of gas was .23 a gallon 75 years ago. Jackie Robinson took to the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers, becoming the first African American to play in Major League Baseball – but Robinson was not the only one making moves.
Leroy Morrison was working on a home run of his own and focused on a different diamond.
“We went to a wedding one day. A friend had a wedding across the street. I see a girl, and she was dressed so pretty. I said I’m going to carry one of those girls home tonight, two sisters. I said one of y’all gotta go home with me,” he recalled.
“I said this is the girl, I’m gonna marry,” said Mr. Morrison. A feat that took nine months, and the ball was clearly in Ms. Wilhelmina’s court.
“I tell her she’s the one. She looked at me and she said, I don’t love you,” he remembered.
“I used to didn’t like him because he wore suspenders hanging behind him, untidy on him. I just didn’t like him, he wasn’t sharp enough for me. I was sharp. I had a wide-rim hat. I was sharp. I knew I was sharp,” said Mrs. Morrison.
Love triumphed over fashion woes, and on June 12, 1947, Leroy Morrison and Wilhelmina Roach became husband and wife.
“Marriage license was $5.00,” said Mr. Morrison. “My wedding dress cost me $16. I got off of King Street,” added Mrs. Morrison.
Both are now 96 years old with ten children and a long lineage that follows.
The Morrisons say the secret to a happy marriage for them: is faith, forgiveness, compromise, patience, and protecting peace.
“The secret is it’s just like a rubber band. You take the rubber band, the more you stretch it, the more it gives. Don’t stretch it too much, and it stays together,” said Mr. Morrison.
“I always tell people take it, whatever stress comes on, you have to take it to make it, and that’s the only way you can make it,” said Mrs. Morrison. “I didn’t have all good days, but I took the bad days and the good days the same, give and take. He is forgiving, and I was forgiving with him also, that’s what kept us together.”
They also say good meals helped as well. “She’s a good cook. She cooked the meals and baked the pies,” said Mr. Morrison.
Mr. Morrison, a retired shoe repairman and barber, and Mrs. Morrison a stay-at-home mom remain inseparable. “Never spent one night away. If he goes outside, and I don’t see him for five or ten minutes, I’m looking for him,” Mrs. Morrison said.
The Morrisons are considered community champions because they dedicated their lives to helping others, and often hosted neighborhood events to feed their Hollywood community.
Both now have health challenges and have 24-hour care from family members, but they continue to give back in whatever way they can.
Their message to young couples starting out: “I would tell them; every day is not going to be Sunday. Every day is not going to be good. Some days will be bad, but I think most of my days are good days, and go to church treat everybody right, all those people who treat you wrong, love them anyhow,” said Mr. Morrison.
After 75 years of marriage, Mrs. Morrison still sings her song of love for her groom mixed with a kiss, but with notes that render a cautionary tale.
“I love you, Roy. You better not let me catch you walking down lover’s lane with anyone else but me, because I love you. I love you. I love you, Roy,” she sang.
The family held a big celebration to mark the three-quarters of a century milestone in August.
Together, they have ten children, twenty-four grandchildren, sixty-five great-grands, twelve great great grands, and five bonus adopted children.
Happy 75th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Morrison!

Wolves will join Wrexham in the ‘The Soccer Tournament’ in the United States this summer.
Wolves are the first Premier League entrant to the tournament, which will see 32 seven-a-side teams compete for the $1million (£825,000) prize, facing off against a wide range of sides from three-time Mexican champions Club Nexaca to a one from National League side Wrexham, who are owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny.
It is expected the Wolves side will feature a selection of ‘club legends’ in the unique tournament, which will follow a ‘World Cup structure’ of an initial group stage followed by knockouts.
“Taking part in innovative tournaments in the USA is deep rooted in our history. Back in 1967, we were founders and champions of one of the first soccer tournaments on American soil – competing in the United Soccer Association, under the name of the Los Angeles Wolves,” said Russell Jones, Wolves’ general manager for marketing and commercial growth.
“It’s been a pleasure working with the TST team so far and I speak for everyone at Wolves when I say we are all looking forward to competing and seeing our many US based fans at the tournament in June,”
Each game will consist of two 20-minute halves followed by ‘target score time’, which will be ‘next goal wins’ if teams are drawing, or if a team is winning the target will be one more than the leading team’s score (i.e. if the score is 4-2, the target score is five).
In target score time, every five minute period that there is no goal a player will be removed from both teams until the target score is hit.

Despite only 12 teams being announced, 31 of the slots are filled with the final slot to be auctioned off in March.
The tournament will take place in Cary, North Carolina between May 31 and June 4.
